Leila Anderson was homecoming queen in 1942. This was just after the Great Depression and in the middle of WWII. There was no money for any frivolous activities. Clearwater Cheerleaders fashioned a crown made out of cardboard and glued hard candy to it as "jewels."

Seventy years later, Leila gets a "real" crown and the "Homecoming Queen" Sash she never had.

Your editor is very proud that his better half (pretty presenter) was able to make this meaningful event happen for Leila.
