Dental Dreams
Research for Online Investors

I was out of the
office this morning for a dentist appointment, teeth are now
clean, and all is well. Sitting in a recliner, with my mouth open,
full of hairy knuckles and stainless steel utensils gives one
the opportunity to think,
uninterrupted.
Except for the occasional
question that I can’t answer because of my position, my
mind strays to the future of health care under the plans
perpetrated by the
progressives.
Dental care is
relatively inexpensive, I pay cash and dentists don’t have to
give away their services if someone shows up at their door at
one in the morning declaring an
emergency.
Which leads me to think
about our veterinarian, Bill is a great guy that is
probably a better doctor than most
doctors. He has to diagnose and treat his
patient. Trixie cannot tell him what is
wrong!
Again, pretty cheap service
too.
There are not a lot of
government mandates and lawyers don’t sue Bill because of
the occasional bad outcome. Bill even volunteers to keep Trixie
overnight in his kennel (hospital) for $10 if
she needs
observation.
Sometimes it is
pleasant to spend time thinking about living in a condition
where government doesn’t tell you what to do, and lawyers don’t
advertise for clients that have had bad
outcomes.
I will know the end is near when
the TV carries late night commercials for law firms that
specialize in suing
veterinarians.
The White House
and Congress tell us everyday how hard they are working to
‘fix’ the economy or bring down
unemployment.
They just are not going to
let this happen without doing
something!
The trouble with
the free market is how do you know it won’t work…if you never
try it.
I paid for having my teeth
cleaned, and made an appointment for
May.
I can hardly wait, another
chance to enjoy cheap healthcare and think about what
could be.
It is amazing, the
world changer's ideas of how to ‘fix things’ when they know so
little, except how to cheat on their taxes and not give to
charity.
The last one always amazes me,
the most liberal progressives; always seem to have the smallest
heart, except with other people’s
money.
Do you remember Bill
Clinton itemizing his charitable deductions for used
underwear? A new
low.
I read in the
local newspaper this weekend that a local Heart Hospital is
offering open-heart surgery at a discounted ‘cash and crash’
price.
They list their prices for
inspection and comparison. Maybe there is hope, as long as there are
entrepreneurs willing buck the
system.
Back in the
office, the initial unemployment claims came out this
morning before market open. The claims were 502,000, surprising the
market as this was lower than last
week.
This was our first hurdle
this week, and should have pointed the market
higher.
Futures were down before
the report came out, sometimes it is hard to change
course in the middle of the
stream.
The dollar is up
today on reports that the White House is ‘concentrating like a
laser beam’ on the deficit, and Geithner gives a rah-rah speech
on the importance of a strong dollar. Oh! Bama wants to pull a magic
budget trick. Why not use some of the TARP funds to pay
down the deficit? Wow, this great, the $700 billion TARP (which
was temporary and promised to be paid back) can now lower the
deficit.
Of course, this is considered
dangerous, as it may tie the administration’s hands dealing
with another crisis in the
future.
The Treasury Dept.
says a
bout $210
billion is available. Those Treasury boys have some very
sharp pencils, to get so close to the exact
amount!
They should be applauded,
given a raise, and fired. They can hire a high school general
math “D” student and get better addition and subtraction
than that. Don't hold your breath, accountability
went out the window, unless you work at a bank that took
TARP funds.
The Wall Street
Journal has the article, “White House Aims to Cut Deficit with TARP
Cash.”

Whose money is it? Ours, or
theirs?
“If you tell a lie big enough and
keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.
The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can
shield the people from the political, economic and/or military
consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for
the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the
truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension,
the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”---Joseph
Goebbels
