Climate
Change Honesty
Research for Online Investors

I spent the morning reading
Scientific American, looking for a balanced article on climate
change. I didn’t find
one. I am reminded of my
sixth grade science project that sought to prove the thesis,
“low-voltage electricity causes plants to grow faster.”
I inserted needles in plant stems
and applied low-voltage to the plants 12 hours per day.
This should not surprise you if
you remember when I wrote about my brother and I building a
jet engine out of a tin
can and copper tubing.
As I recall, the thesis was
proved, and the project received a blue ribbon.
Unsuccessful projects that did
not prove their thesis were not awarded blue ribbons.
I have read much about the money
flows to climate researchers in grants and other research
funding. It seems the most
money flows to those that ‘prove the thesis’.
Kind of like a blue ribbon,
except it makes all the difference in your
paycheck.
I found an interesting article
from 2006 in the Wall Street Journal Archives following the
same thinking. The author
is no rube like me, Richard Lindzen, Professor of Atmospheric
Science at MIT has the credentials to ask a few questions and
make observations. 2006
Federal funding for climate research was $1.7 billion, guess
who received the money? Hint: you had better prove the thesis.
Professor Lindzen writes a
wonderful article, “Climate of Fear.”
He chronicles the challenges to
peer review, and the sinister side of the ‘feeding frenzy’ for
money. The professor
observes, “Scientists who dissent from the
alarmism have seen their grant funds disappear, their
work derided, and themselves libeled as industry stooges,
scientific hacks or worse. Consequently, lies about
climate change gain credence even when they fly in the
face of the science that supposedly is their
basis.” Wow, I could not have said it any
better.

Professor Lindzen is
persona-non-grata to the global warming bunch.
As such, he seems to pop up at
the worst possible time. He wrote another article to the Wall Street
Journal last month, just in time for the Confab in
Copenhagen. His scientific
reasoning is superb in “Climate Science Isn’t Settled.”
Rather than speaking of
consensus, he lays out the support and weakness of the
alarmist arguments. One
of his conclusions surrounding the political
discussion, “What
does all this have to do with climate catastrophe? The
answer brings us to a scandal that is, in my opinion,
considerably greater than that implied in the hacked emails
from the Climate Research Unit (though perhaps not as bad as
their destruction of raw data): namely the suggestion that
the very existence of warming or of the greenhouse effect is
tantamount to catastrophe. This is the grossest of "bait and
switch" scams.” Wow, again.
I found a lecture by Professor Lindzen on YouTube, it is
enjoyable.
This video is prt. 1 of a
Professor Lindzen lecture on global warming.
I encourage you to watch
all six parts, and forward them to your friends.
This gentleman has been
called one of the most credentialed skeptics, and the
most difficult to ignore. Knowledge is always a joy, ignorance a
comfort.
One website that I found as a
source for the future is GlobalWarming.org
This seems to be a fact
based clearing house for information about the fraud of
climate change. Whenever this topic is discussed, I
come back to earlier references to the late Michael
Crichton who famously said, ‘Show me the science.
If it is science, it is
demonstrable and repeatable.’
Wow, we hit a nerve
yesterday.

I am
really enjoying reading your simple and easy writings in
the "Market Today" even though I may disagree with some of
it. Simplicity is GREATNESS. Thanks a lot.

You
are pathetic. I'm opting out of your web site. I really

J.C., that is why we put
the cancel option on every email we send out, although I wish
closed minded socialists would hang around, they might start to
question their “feelings”. No thinking person could actually believe in
that change
thing!
Our quote for
today:
On Climate Alarmists…”I think it's mainly just like little kids
locking themselves in dark closets to see how much they can
scare each other and
themselves."
