Galt Stock
Fast profits, limited losses in a changing
market!
Dec 8, 2008
Money needs to find a home; today investors
are willing to buy a 30-day Treasury at 0.01%
interest! Gosh ma, if we put enough in, we
can buy a toaster! The Santa Claus rally
sputtered today, we wait on the Detroit bailout, a Fed
announcement of lowing rates, and OPEC to cut
production. There was no good or bad news
today. The market is willing to overlook bad
news, jump on good news, but no news causes
confusion. I think we still have room in
this bear market rally to run higher, today we consolidated our
gains, some traders are selling stocks that climbed back up to
even.
The Illinois Gov. heads to the slammer, then
the statehouse! The
FBI arrested him on trying to sell the Senate seat vacated by
OH! BAMA! It seems the feds had a wiretap on
his phones and caught him trying to monetize his
appointment. OH! BAMA aids offered their
mentors appreciation and a job for the Gov’s wife, but no cash
on the barrelhead. Chicago politics just is
not what it used to be!
By
the time Washington hammers out a ‘loan’ for GM and Chrysler we
will have slid farther down the slippery slope of socialism
than any of us would have thought possible six months
ago. It is becoming clear there is little
difference between Republicans and
Democrats. One just promises to put it in a
little! OH! BAMA! criticized President Bush
during the presidential campaign for large
deficits. Now the president elect is rumored
to propose a trillion dollar stimulus when he takes
office. It will be interesting to see our
government defend these nationalizations when other countries
file complaints against us for unfair trade
practices.
We
will look for a bounce in the markets
tomorrow. If we do not get a bounce, it
could get ugly.
If
you are looking for a nice gift to ship to a friend, here is an
idea for you http://www.worcesterwreath.com/
. This company’s president, Morill Worcester
donates wreaths every year for Arlington National
Cemetery. Maybe a little bit of the money
you spend with him will help him continue this
philanthropy.
